B.L.A.C.K - Mural and center GRAND OPENING! (2022)

Artist XCES used his talent to honored and painted two icons at the B.L.A.C.K Center located at Santiago Community College. The two icons depicted in the wall are John Lewis and Ida B. Wells.

John Lewis is considerded one of the "Big Six" leaders of the civil rights movement in the 1960's. Ida B. Wells was born into slavery on July 16,1862 in Mississippi. Growing up she became a staunch fighter against racism during the Jim Crow era.
